2022 AOLAF Labor Person of the Year

2022 AOLAF Labor Person of the Year - Everett Kelley is the National President of the American Federation of Government Employees, which is the largest union representing federal and D.C. government employees.  A native of Goodwater Alabama, Kelley worked at the Anniston Army Depot and served as President of Local 1945 from 2002 to 2011. Kelley was named Alabama Organized Labor Awards Foundation's Labor Person of the Year, August 13, 2022 at Embassy Suites in Hoover Alabama.

  • Hall of Fame - J.D. Hornsby, Business Manager IBEW Local 443 and President of River Region Labor Council
  • Hall of Fame - Larry Jackson, retired Assistant to the Director of USW District 9
  • Hall of Fame - Jerome Peterson - Business Manager LIUNA Local 559 and VP Alabama Chapter of Coalition of Black Trades Union
  • Hall of Fame - Mary Ellis Smoot - Represented UMWA in numerous positions starting as inside laborer and finished working with computer systems

2022 Friend of Labor - Anthony Daniels, currently represents the 53rd District of Alabama State House of Representatives, the youngest and first African American Minority Leader of the Alabama House of Representatives
