Second Annual Ladies of Labor Champagne Brunch
On Saturday, March 10th the Southwest Alabama Labor Council hosted the Second Annual Brunch to celebrate the Ladies of Labor for all their hard work and their continuous support of the Labor Movement in our community. Many of our female union members, spouses/significant others of union members, and Women Celebrating Women attended. We were about to raise $1,821 that went benefit the United Way of Southwest Alabama ($1,457) and the SWALC Community Services Fund ($364) which was an increase of $648 over 2017
United Way's VP of Resource Development Jill Chenoweth was the speakers. She committeed to continue the rebuild the relationship between the two organizations as well as about the urgency with which low income and working families need help. She commented that the United Way could not have been successful all these year without the help from unions and the generocity of their members.
