Larry Spencer

Larry, a UMWA District 20 Field Representative, has been a loyal and active UMWA member and officer for over thirty-six years. He has served his Union and been a Labor leader at the Local and District levels. Elected to served a number of officer positions including Local Union President, Vice President, Chairman of the Mine Committee, COMPAC Committee and Organizing Committee.

He is serving his second term as Vice-President at Large - Southern District of the Alabama AFL-CIO, Vice-President of the West Alabama Labor Council, Executive Board member of the Central Alabama Labor Federation.  Larry is President of the Alabama Coalition of Black Trade Unionist, President of the Miners Memorial Foundation and President of the Alabama Workers Appreciation Foundation.
